A to Z of Food Storage

Berries

Best Storage:

Fridge

For maximum storage (up to 2 weeks) soak for 5 mins in 1/2 cup white vinegar and 1.5 cups of water to remove bacteria. Rinse and let dry completely on paper towel. Line an airtight container with paper towel and put dry berries in.

Freezer?

Yes

Freeze in a single layer on a tray, then transfer them to an airtight container in your freezer.

Use it up!

Add frozen berries directly to making smoothies or yoghurt.
Tip: Pick out any softer berries and put them straight into a ‘soft fruit’ container in your freezer. This container is also great to add any squashed fruit coming home in kid’s lunchboxes. Once you have enough, blitz to make this delicious, healthy fruit icecream the whole family will love.
