A to Z of Food Storage

Stone Fruit

Best Storage:

Fridge

Apricots, nectarines, plums & peaches.

If ripe keep in the fridge or fruit bowl if unripe.

Freezer?

Yes

To freeze firstly blanch for 30 seconds before dropping into cold water to remove skins. Remove the pits and place in an airtight container in the freezer for up to one year. To preserve shape, roll in sugar.

Use it up!

Once defrosted the texture will be softer, so use stonefruit straight from the freezer in smoothies or to make delicious crumbles or compotes. Also use for baking and cooked recipes.
