Keep airtight within their original packaging if canned or dry. Cooked or soaked chickpeas are best kept in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days, otherwise transfer this to your freezer.

Store soaked or cooked chickpeas in an airtight container in the freezer. Pat dry before freezing.

Use frozen chickpeas in cooking.
Use them up: Chickpeas can be seasoned to match the flavours of so many dishes. Toss them through a pasta, make a curry or hummus, or add some extra crunch to salads, soups and rice dishes after roasting or frying them.
